# Algorithmic Trading @ University of Washington

During my first year of graduate school, I served as the Managing Director for our [University of Washington Algorithmic Trading Club](https://students.washington.edu/atcuw/). [ATC@UW ](https://www.linkedin.com/company/algorithmic-trading-club-at-uw/)is the [Registered Student Organization](https://huskylink.washington.edu/organization/atcuw) of the Computational Finance & Risk Management program, dedicated to quantitative finance and financial engineering.

Placing an emphasis on quantitative finance as an academic discipline and a profession, intended for an institutional setting, we accomplish this through education, training, networking, and professional development.

By the end of my tenure, we had almost 200 officially registered members on our roster. We tripled our Discord membership in one year from 150 to over 600.

I particularly enjoyed contributing lectures to our weekly workshops for our general body club meetings. Our club leadership team organized our [Husky Hold'Em Pokerbot Coding Competiton](https://students.washington.edu/atcuw/hh.html).

After my first year, I went on to focus more on my coming professional career and personal research interests, so I stepped down as Managing Director to an advisory role.

None of this would have been possible without such a strong team behind the scenes. I'm exceptionally grateful for Omzin for producing all of the academic content, Bhavesh for keeping things together and managing Husky Hold'Em, and Thomas for handling all our extroverted needs.
