I represented the collective voice and interests of our [Department of Applied Mathematics](https://amath.washington.edu/) in our graduate student government as a [Senator ](https://depts.washington.edu/gpss/about-gpss-1/senators/) on [UW's Graduate & Professional Student Senate](https://depts.washington.edu/gpss/), sitting on on the [Finance & Budget Committee](https://depts.washington.edu/gpss/about-gpss-1/gpss-committees/).

As part of the Finance & Budget Committee, I advised and proposed our over $600,000 budget for FY25, as well as our $90,000 reserve fund. Our committee meetings involve hearing and deliberating on funding proposals from UW departments and Registered Student Organizations.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, I was elected as an [Executive Senator](https://depts.washington.edu/gpss/about-gpss-1/executive-senators/), and also hired as our Office & Budget Director. This is an extension of my previous duties from last year: In addition to the Finance & Budget Committee I also serve now on the Travel Grants Committee and Executive Committee. We presented to the Student Activities Fund to directly request our operating budget for the following year.

Thanks to Jon for the chicken, putting everything together, and tolerating my schedule. Thanks to Ryan for patiently waiting for me to get back to him on Teams, and not being angry that I never filled out a single when2meet. Thanks to Noah for providing me with clear feedback and objectives to maximize my time and role.
